A Message from Ms. Spencer...

It's almost time for Sneak Peek! This is a great opportunity for students and families to begin familiarizing themselves with our campus before the first day of school. During Sneak Peek, students will have the opportunity to:

Explore the campus
Visit model classrooms
Locate key areas such as our academic loop, cafeteria, gym, library, and elective spaces
Pickup pre-ordered school supplies
Purchase spirit wear
Enter a drawing to win a Hawk Spirit Bag
And much more...

Parking will be available in the back of the building, and families will enter through the cafeteria doors. Our staff will be available to help guide you throughout the evening.

A Note About Student Schedules:

You may already be able to view your student's schedule if your Beginning-of-Year Form has been completed. However, please keep in mind that student scheduling is still in progress. New students continue to enroll daily, and class placements and teacher assignments may change prior to the start of school. Rather than focusing on specific class periods or teacher assignments, we encourage families to use Sneak Peek as an opportunity to become familiar with our campus layout and learn where students will access important areas throughout their day.

Schedules will become more settled as we move closer to the start of school, and families will have the opportunity to meet teachers and learn more about classroom expectations during our Open House on August 25th.

We are looking forward to seeing our new Hawks and their families on Wednesday evening and kicking off an amazing school year together!

Beginning-of-Year Form (All Families Must Complete)

For the 2026-27 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center.

Online forms are available through the Family Access Center starting July 27th and all forms need to be submitted no later than September 11th. Your student’s schedule will not be available online through the Family Access Center until all the Beginning-of-Year Forms are completed for your student and after the campus has released schedules. Student schedules will be available online on Monday, August 3rd, if all online forms have been completed.

For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting Monday, July 27.

Transportation Form (all families must submit by Today)

Don't miss the deadline to ensure your student is assigned a bus route for the first day of school! If you have not signed up for bus transportation by August 2nd, please make transportation arrangements for your child during the first two weeks of school, as Transportation will not allow unregistered students to ride the bus home.

Even if your student will not ride the bus, please complete the transportation form. This information helps our campus know whether your child will be a bus rider, car rider, or walker and ensures a safe and smooth dismissal process for all students.

Tardy Consequences

As students transition to middle school, one of the biggest adjustments is learning to manage their time and arrive to class independently and on time. We understand that this level of accountability is new for many sixth graders, and we want to assure families that we will support students every step of the way.

During the first two weeks of school, our staff will intentionally help students become comfortable navigating between classes. While punctuality is an important life skill that helps students develop responsibility and prepares them for future success, we also recognize that learning these routines takes time.

We ask that parents partner with us by having conversations at home about the importance of being on time and encouraging students to move purposefully between classes. Together, we can help our Hawks build strong habits, gain confidence, and successfully adjust to middle school expectations.

To be transparent and ensure families understand our campus expectations, we are sharing our tardy consequences for the 2026-2027 school year.

Update: Dismissal for Walkers

We will have two sets of "Walkers" dismissed at the end of each school day.

#1. If you are a staff member of Foster High School or Briscoe Junior High and you wish for your student to walk over to you have after school, you must submit a permission letter to the front office, or an email from their Foster/Briscoe LCISD email to our front office receptionist donna.weishiemer@lcisd.org. Once verification is completed and approved by Principal Spencer, students will be approved to participate in walker dismissal.

#2. If you live in the neighborhood behind Wertheimer, and you wish for your student to walk home, you must submit a permission letter to the front office, or an email from their Foster/Briscoe LCISD email to our front office receptionist donna.weishiemer@lcisd.org. Once verification is completed and approved by Principal Spencer, students will be approved to participate in walker dismissal.

For student safety, walkers will be released as a group and escorted across the street (for Briscoe & Foster) and released to the back of the building (neighborhood walkers). Since we do not have staff available to continuously monitor the route between campuses and behind the school into the neighborhood, students will not be released to walk independently before that time.

To help ensure a safe and smooth dismissal process, please inform the front office staff of any transportation changes no later than 4:00 PM and keep transportation arrangements as consistent as possible whenever feasible.

Please know that our staff has carefully planned for students' safety and will be actively supporting them throughout the dismissal process.
