Dear Wertheimer Families,

As we head into our Labor Day Weekend, I can't help but reflect on and be amazed by the hard work, creativity, and determination our Hawks are showing each day! From hands-on science labs and engaging art projects to learning new instruments in Fine Arts and exploring new concepts in math, our students have been busy learning and growing. This week, students completed their first unit exams. Our teachers are now digging into that data to identify every student's individual glows and grows so we can celebrate successes and provide the support needed for continued growth.

Of course, all that hard work deserves some celebration! We are excited to announce that our PBIS Store opens on September 18, giving students the opportunity to turn their positive behavior points into rewards. A huge thank you to our families who have  contributed items to help us "Stock Our Store!" Your generosity helps us recognize and celebrate our Hawks in meaningful ways.

We are also gearing up for one of our students' favorite experiences of the year, Innovative Club Days! Soon, students will have the opportunity to select from a wide variety of exciting clubs based on their interests and passions. We can't wait to see our Hawks explore new hobbies, build new skills, and make lasting memories. On Thursday, September 10th, at 6:30 PM, students will be able to select their clubs.  Clubs do fill up fast so we allow students to choose their top 4 choices.  A club selection link will be shared on ParentSquare, Facebook, and on students' Social Studies Canvas Page.  In the end, students will be able to participate in two clubs!  With so many choices, I have no doubt they will have SO MUCH FUN and learn A LOT!

We are excited to share an opportunity for our Hawks to participate in the VFW Patriot’s Pen Essay Competition. This year’s theme is“What a Veteran Taught Me About America,” and students will have the chance to showcase their writing while competing for scholarships and prizes at the local, state, and national levels, including a national grand prize of $5,000. Essays must be 300-400 words and submitted by October 31, 2026. We encourage our young writers to consider participating in this meaningful and rewarding opportunity!
